The patchouli oil (Pogostemon cablin) comes from a perennial herb with large fragrant leaves. It is a tropical shrub whose oval leaves contain a fragrant essential oil. Patchouli is native to tropical areas such as Africa and Asia. The patchouli oil is extracted using steam distillation of the leaves. This means steaming the leaves to break down the cell walls and release the essence. Most oils are extracted using steam distillation. Patchouli oil has an earthy and exotic scent. The oil has many properties and is especially pleasant together with other scents such as bergamot, ylang ylang, lemon, cedar, and lavender.

Patchouli oil is used in aromatherapy. Aromatherapy is based on the use of  essential oils to promote physical and emotional health  and create balance throughout the body. The molecules of the oils penetrate the bloodstream and are carried around to all parts of the body. The oils therefore work on both body and mind. Patchouli oil is a fantastic oil that is used against depression, anxiety, nervousness, exhaustion, lack of sexual desire and stress-related problems. The oil is also used for skin care, as it has abilities that can fight skin problems such as acne, eczema, dermatitis and other skin inflammations. It is anti-inflammatory, good against cracked and open pores. Patchouli oil also has the ability to regenerate dead skin cells, which is why it is especially used in connection with the production of anti-ageing products. It is also one of the essential oils most often recommended for orange peel.

Aromatherapy

Our natural essential oils can be used in aromatherapy as our essential oils are pure and extracted directly from flowers, herbs, leaves, fruits, peels, seeds, bark or roots. They have powerful effects on improving physical, emotional and spiritual well-being. For over 5000 years, aromatherapy has been a trusted element among many cultures spanning the globe. Essential oils were used by ancient Egyptians during church ceremonies to create harmony and a fragrant atmosphere. In addition, they used essential oils as antiseptics. Some of the most common reasons people use aromatherapy include relieving pain, improving sleep quality, reducing stress, overcoming symptoms of depression, and to soothe sore joints.

Aromatherapy can be performed in several different ways

 - Diffuse essential oils in air using scent dispenser (You can use one or more oils)

- Drip 3-8 drops of essential oil into the fragrance dispenser

- Inhale essential oils directly through the nostrils by dabbing a few drops on your wrist or on a clean cloth.

- Receive massage therapy from a professional masseur using essential oils - Add a few drops of essential oil to your bath water.

It is good to mix with :

bergamot, ylang ylang, lemon, cedar, and lavender

Essential oils can be used individually or in mixtures. There are two reasons for mixing essential oils:

1) To create a more sophisticated fragrance or enhance or alter the effect of the oils

2) By mixing essential oils you change the molecular structure, and by mixing correctly you can create a mixture where the oils work together in harmony with great effect.

Warning !

- Keep all essential oils out of reach of children

- Avoid getting essential oils in the eyes

- Do not get undiluted oil on the skin
